This privacy policy explains what data Protect My WP collects, why, and what you can do about it. It's written in plain English and covers the whole site.
What data we collect
When you buy the book, we store your email address and a payment reference returned by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Those go directly to Stripe.
For visitors who accept analytics via the cookie consent notice, we collect anonymised analytics through Google Analytics 4 (page views, browser type, country at the country level). If you decline, no analytics data is collected and no GA cookies are set.
Why we collect it
Your email address is used to send you your reader link and to resend it via the recovery flow if you lose it. The payment reference lets us look up your purchase if there's a support issue or a Stripe dispute.
Analytics data is used to understand which pages people read, how visitors find the site, and where things might be broken. It's not used for advertising or tracking you across other sites.
Who your data is shared with
Three third parties handle data on our behalf:
- Stripe - processes your payment. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics - anonymised site analytics, only if you've accepted via the cookie consent notice. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Brevo - sends your purchase and recovery emails. Subject to Brevo's privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Purchase records (email + Stripe reference) are kept indefinitely so we can support you if you lose your access link years from now. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default settings, currently 14 months.
Your rights
If you'd like a copy of the data we hold about you, want to correct it, or want it deleted entirely, email [email protected]. Deletion of your purchase record will end your access to the book.
