This page explains what cookies and similar storage Protect My WP uses, why, and how you can manage them.
Your choice
The first time you visit the site, a small notice appears asking whether you'd like to allow analytics. Until you click Accept, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking happens. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4. GA4 sets a small number of cookies (_ga and similar) in your browser to identify return visits and aggregate page-view data. The data is anonymised at the country level and is not used for advertising.
See Google's privacy policy for details on what GA collects and how it's processed.
What we don't use
We don't run advertising cookies, third party trackers, social media pixels, or any of the other tracking technology common on commercial sites. The only third party JavaScript on the site is Google Analytics (only when you've accepted), the cookie consent tool itself (Klaro, self hosted), and Stripe (only on the checkout page).
Functional storage
The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember small things about you between visits:
- Your reader access link (after you buy), so you don't have to paste it every time.
- Your light/dark theme preference.
- Your sidebar open/closed state.
- Your cookie preferences.
None of this is shared with anyone or used for tracking. It's stored on your device and only your browser reads it.
Changing your mind
Use the button below to reopen the consent panel. Toggle Google Analytics off and click Save, and the site will stop loading GA on subsequent page loads. To clear existing GA cookies straight away, you can also clear your browser's site data for protectmywp.com.
The same option is available from the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page.
